PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state laser which can oscillates laser light of a single lateral mode despite its simple constitution. SOLUTION: Laser light which is oscillated from a semiconductor laser element 11 as a pumping light is converged through a second lens 12b, after the spreading angle of the laser light is suppressed by means of first lens 12a of an optical system 12 and projected upon a solid-state laser medium 13a set up in a resonator 13. The pumping mode of the laser light projected upon the medium 13a is in such a state that the mode juts out of the resonator mode of the medium 13a, and the laser light projected upon the medium 13a excites not only the inside but also the outside of the resonator mode. |
