PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device performing high quality recording and its manufacture. SOLUTION: In the optical pickup device, when a total reflection mirror 55 deflecting a laser beam L emitted from a laser diode 51 toward an objective lens 6 is loaded on a frame, first of all, a reflection surface 551 is tilted for the narrow directions x, y of the divergent angle of the laser beam L, and the tilted angle adjustment of the total reflection mirror 55 is performed so that the optical axis L1 of the laser beam L made incident on the objective lens 56 becomes parallel to the optical axis of the objective lens 56. Then, the total reflection mirror 55 is parallel moved in the narrow direction x of the divergent angle of the laser beam L, and deviation x1 in the narrow direction of the divergent angle in the deviation of the center L2 of the intensity distribution of the laser beam L for the optical axis of the objective lens 56 is removed.
