PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the RAM access frequency of an error correcting circuit. SOLUTION: This reproducing device is provided with a digital data demodulating circuit 111 which inputs data in which at least a PI correction code and a PO correction code are added to plural data columns and demodulates the inputted digital data, a storage means which temporarily stores the demodulated digital data and an error correcting circuit 121 which reads the data out of the storage means and detects or corrects wrong data. The demodulating circuit 111 finds a syndrome showing the state of an error of which the said data columns have and to be corrected by using the PI correction code. The error correcting circuit 121 can perform the correcting processing even in the case that either of the PI syndrome and the data columns including the PI correction code is made to an input.
