PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an arithmetic amount by improving approximation accuracy of a directivity gain suppression section in the case of obtaining a transmission weight coefficient to minimize an error in a transmission reception directivity pattern through the use of a prescribed calculation equation. SOLUTION: The diversity communication device uses a diversity reception circuit 113 to estimate a reception weight coefficient from a signal received by a plurality of antennas 104 and uses a weight coefficient correction circuit 117 to generate an object directivity pattern, based on the reception weight coefficient, generates a transmission directivity pattern from an optional transmission weight coefficient, detects an error between the transmission directivity pattern and the object directivity pattern, applies logarithmic transform to the error, updates the transmission weight coefficient to reduce the error that is logarithmically transformed, and uses a directivity generating circuit 118 to provide a directivity to a transmission signal by using the updated transmission weight coefficient. Thus, the approximation accuracy of a directivity gain suppression section is enhanced and the arithmetic amount is reduced.
