PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide necessary information without any user's trouble. SOLUTION: A portable terminal 10 is connected to an information provision center 11 and an area whose weather information is desired to be known is inputted. On the side of the information provision center 11, weather information of the area is retrieved from weather information held on an information providing server 13 according to an area number inputted from the terminal 10. The contents of the information providing server 13 are updated by a weather forecasting server 12 at any time and when differences from the contents sent to the terminal 10 are generated, the information providing server 13 connects automatically to the terminal 10 to send difference information to the terminal 10, thereby always replacing the information on the side of the terminal 10 with the latest information.
