PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten tuning time when programs in the same category are selected in digital broadcasting. SOLUTION: Plural programs belonging to the same category are transmitted by grouping them together in a single transmission channel at each transponder of satellite digital broadcasting. Four programs of basketball games are transmitted in a transmission channel C1 of a first transponder in a figure. Since the programs of the basketball games in the same category are auditioned without switching the transponders by selecting the first transponder at a receiver, the tuning time is shortened.
