PURPOSE: A multi-type air conditioner for cooling and heating is provided to control excessively frost forming by not mutually overlapping the coolant channel of the first outdoor heat exchanging unit and the second outdoor heat exchanging unit. CONSTITUTION: The multi-type air conditioner for cooling and heating has:an outdoor heat exchanging unit(9) installing a first compressor(1) and a second compressor(3) that compress the coolant, a first outdoor heat exchanging unit(5) that delivers heat with outdoor air by connecting with the first compressor and has the first heat-delivering pipe and a second outdoor heat exchanging unit(7) that has the second compressor and the second heat-delivering pipe; and a first indoor heat exchanging unit(11) connected with the first outdoor heat exchanging unit.
