An abrasive body comprising an abrasive layer (10) bonded to a substrate (12) along an interface (14) and at least one strip-like projection extending from the interface (14) into the substrate (12). The projection has a profile which includes a substantially flat central portion (26) and connecting surfaces (28, 30) to either side of the central section (26). The surfaces (28, 30) slope from the central section (26) to the interface (14).
