Coating material (16) is applied to the concrete roadway (10). The material is pref. a suspension of a liquid (30), esp. water and a fiber material (28). The fiber material consists of at least one of the following:- fibers of cellulose, paper, processed waste paper, flax, cotton, or textiles. The fibers have an average length of 0,01mm to 5mm and the suspension contains a binding agent. The suspension is sprayed on or flows pressure-free onto the concrete surface (12), and it is heated after application, pref. by infrared radiation. A hardening coating with a thickness of 0,1mm to 2mm is applied to the concrete under or over the material.
