The system has a casing (30) for several rectangular functional units (20) that can be inserted into and held in the casing in a raster formed by rows and columns. The units carry mounting bridges (21) around all external side walls. The open sides of the casing can be covered by a common front panel (10) with internal raster bridges (11) with grooves for the mounting bridges. The front panel with attached functional units can be inserted into the casing as a unit.
