<p>The present invention provides for the rendering and displaying of a compound document at a client system without requiring that any application specific-software be installed on the client system. The application is said to have a 'zero footprint' since the software that renders and displays the compound document resides only temporarily on the client system, and is not persistently or permantently stored when the rendering and displaying application is not active. The compound document is also not persistently or permanently stored upon termination of the application.</p> |
