An inorganic polysilazane(perhydropolysilazane), which upon burning in the air at 400 to 1,000 °C gives a high-purity dense silica (SiO2) film excellent in electrical insulating properties, hardness, chemical corrosion resistance, and gas-barrier properties, is burned in the air at a low temperature. The burned film which has undergone insufficient conversion into silica is subjected to a treatment for accelerating oxidation or hydrolysis at room temperature to 120 °C, whereby the starting material is completely converted to silica. The thus-obtained film has a hardness approximately equal to that or quartz glass. By utilizing this silica as the surface protective layer of an organic photoreceptor or incorporating it into a photosensitive layer, an electrophotographic organic photoreceptor having extremely high printing durability is obtained.
|
