<p>A night vision device (18) includes an image intensifier tube (28) with a microchannel plate (38) substantially eliminating multi-boundary noise from the image provided by this device. The microchannel plate (38) is substantially free of a hexagonal boundary pattern which results in conventional microchannel plates from the stacking of hexagonal bundles of fibers from which the microchannels (42) are formed. A method of making a microchannel plate (38) in accord with the invention is also set out.</p> |
