The battery charging circuit uses a power requirement detection device for determining the power supplied by the battery to the electrical load (511), coupled to a charging current control (101), for regulating the charging current for the battery in dependence on the power output and the permissible heat output for the housing (100) containing the battery, the electrical load and the battery charging circuit.
