The present invention relates to a method for treating the surfaces (1) of items of everyday use, especially coated surfaces. The inventive method consists in depositing one or more active enzymes (5) on said surface (1) and/or coating (2), whereby said enzymes are immobilized. The invention also relates to an agent for treating the surfaces (1) of items of daily use, whereby said agent consists of one or more enzymes (5) which are immobilized in an active form on the surface (1) after said agent has been applied in an appropriate manner. The invention further relates to an item of everyday use, especially a motor vehicle, whereby one or more active enzymes (5) are deposited and immobilized on the surface (1) thereof.
