The detector has a slot antenna (30) mounted above the automatic sliding doors, producing a small coverage zone (60) directly in front of the doors. The slot antenna radiates Radio Frequency waves, and the reflections are detected using the doppler principle. The positioning of the coverage area means that a person (1) travelling towards the door produces a high doppler and activates the door opening. A person (2) entering the zone and travelling across the door direction, or a stationary object, will produce only a low or zero doppler which will not trigger the door opening. |
