Dashboard for motor vehicle equipped with integrally connected airbag flap

The dashboard has a plastic front panel(14), and a plastic flap(12) to enclose an uninflated airbag. The flap is connected to the front panel by a designed break point(16), and allows deployment of the airbag. A hinge(22) with at least one plastic part joins the flap to the front panel and ensures that the flap does not become detached from the front panel when the airbag deploys. The hinge may have a number of spaced apart plastic sections which connect the front panel to the flap.
