Reactive polyisobutylenes and process for preparing thereof

Reactive polyisobutylenes which contain at least one structural unit with the isocyanate group of general formula II, located in the head and/or rear and/or inside the chain, where Z represents H or CH3, and the isocyanate group is linked to the aromatic nucleus either directly, or across the linear or branched alkyl group R with 1 to 10 carbon atoms. The compounds are prepared by copolymerisation of isobutylene with a derivative of styrene orα-methyl styrene, to whose aromatic nucleus, either directly or across the alkyl group, the isocyanate group is linked, preferably 3-isopropenyl-α,α-dimethylbenzyl isocyanate, at a temperature of -100 to +60 degrees C in the presence of Lewis' acid, for example tin tetrachloride or ferric chloride or their combination.
