Balancing receiver for a cellular radio communications system

The threshold control system has a receiver which processes a beacon frequency containing information about the cell and a second frequency offset 45 MHz providing random access control. The beacon frequency power output is not controlled, and to prevent it swamping the second frequency, attenuation (chain L) is selectively applied above a set threshold.
