PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform suction restoring operation without moving recording paper even on the way of recording when the suction restoring operation of a recording head is performed by reversely rotating a paper feed roller and to enhance handling properties and throughput. SOLUTION: A paper feed roller is constituted of a columnar member 30 and a cylindrical member 32 fitted in a concentric state and, when the columnar member 30 is rotated in a paper feed direction, the columnar member 30 and the cylindrical member 32 are together rotated and, when the columnar member 30 is rotated in a reverse direction, the rotation of the columnar member 30 is prevented from the transmission to the cylindrical member 32 and a suction pump is driven by the rotation of the columnar member in a reverse direction. |
