PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antiviral composition capable of including an antiviral component at high concentrations without decrease in its content and useful as an antiviral spray agent by including an antiviral agent powder, a medium- chain fatty acid triglyceride and liquid paraffin. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) an antiviral agent [e.g. adenine arabinoside (vidarabine), acyclovir, idoxuridine, ganciclovir] [pref. an average particle diameter (ellipsoidally equivalent major axis) of <=50μm, more pref. <=40μm, further pref. <=30μm] and (B) a medium-chain fatty acid triglyceride and/or a liquid paraffin. The compounding weight ratio of the component A/ component B is pref. (0.1:100) to (10:100), more pref. (0.5:100) to (7:100). It is preferable that this composition is filled in a press-on type container or an accumulatory-type spray container and is used as an antiviral spray agent for external use for skin.
