PURPOSE: To obtain the subject substance exhibiting sufficient light resistance, antimicrobial effect and antimicrobial durability by adsorption-carrying antimicrobial metal fine particles obtained by a specific production method on the sun-face of porous calcium carbonate powder obtained by a specified production method. CONSTITUTION: Calcium carbonate powder obtained by adding a soluble phosphoric acid compound to an aqueous slurry of calcium carbonate and subsequently aging the mixture is brought into contact with the non-aqueous dispersion of antimicrobial metal fine particles to obtain the antimicrobial metal fine particlecarrying porous calcium carbonate having a BET ratio surface area of >=100m<2> /g and an absorbed oil volume of >=140cc/100g. The metal fine particles are preferably silver fine particles. The held amount of the metal fine particles is 0.001-10wt.% based on the calcium carbonate. The calcium carbonate preferably has a cubic, fusiform or whisker-like shape. The solid content concentration of the calcium carbonate in the aqueous slurry is preferably 1-60wt.% based on the weight of the calcium carbonate. |
