PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily control molecular weight distributions, composition distributions, etc., using a tube type reactor. SOLUTION: By supplying a material monomer 2, a polymerization catalyst 3 and an inactive medium 4 or the like to a tube type reactor 1 at pressurized states, allowing a vapor phase comprising the material monomer and/or an inactive medium gas and a liquid phase comprising the material monomer and/or an inactive solvent to coexist and forming a vapor-liquid separation stream or vapor-liquid-solid separation stream having a continuous vapor phase in the flow direction inside the reactor, the material monomer is allowed to react while the liquid phase within the reactor is transported by a vapor-phase stream inside this reactor. Here, feed openings 11 for the material monomer, the polymerization catalyst, etc., at the wall surface are established at different positions in the flow direction inside this tube type reactor, or an independent temperature regulation means 12 is established in the flow direction of the tube type reactor for additional supplement of the material monomer or polymerization catalyst or for regulation of reaction temperature to form a reaction field wherein the conditions are substantially non-continuous and a reaction different from those carried out in other parts is carried out.
