PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing an oxide powder free from agglomeration tendency. SOLUTION: An oxide powder is produced by preparing (A) a W/O-type emulsion produced by emulsifying a stock aqueous solution containing a metallic element in a combustible liquid and (B) a W/O-type emulsion produced by emulsifying water in a combustible liquid, mixing the emulsions A and B to form a mixed emulsion 110, spraying the mixed emulsion in the form of droplets and at the same time, burning the combustible liquid in the droplets.
