PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition, excellent in alkali, weather and heat resistance, etc., by reacting an active hydrogen-containing compound containing a polyester polyol having hydroxyl groups at both terminals with a polyisocyanate to form urethane bonds. CONSTITUTION:(A) An active hydrogen-containing compound containing a polyester polyol, derived from an alicyclic or an aromatic polyhydric alcohol which is a polyhydric alcohol having cyclohexane ring such as preferably 1,4- cyclohexanedimethanol and a hydrogenated polymerized fatty acid and having hydroxyl groups at both terminals is reacted with (B) a polyisocyanate such as isophorone diisocyanate and, as necessary, in the presence of (C) a solvent such as dimethylformamide and/or (D) a catalyst such as triethylamine and urethanized to afford the objective composition suitable as coatings for automotive exterior trim, coatings for buildings, etc. |
