PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform reciprocating parallel wiping by one side wiper arm in the case of low-speed or intermittent wiping, and perform continuous swing wiping by two wiper arms in the case of high-speed wiping regarding window surface wiping. SOLUTION: A wiper device is provided with a first wiping means composed of a first electric motor 5 for reciprocating and traversing a main wiper arm 8 on a guide rail 1, and a second wiping means composed of a second electric motor 15 for repeatedly swinging, in a changed attitude, the main wiper arm 8 between its standing attitude and its falling attitude when the main wiper arm 8 reaches a specified stopping position. The wiper shaft 19 of an auxiliary wiper arm 18 provided in the left end of a window surface is connected to the second wiping means via an interlocking means.
