PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording head, a manufacturing method thereof and an ink jet recorder in which durability can be ensured by preventing cracking in the vicinity of the circumferential wall of pressure generating chamber of a piezoelectric element and in the vicinity of a contact hole. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording head comprises a plurality of pressure generating chambers 12 communicating with nozzle opening, and at least upper and lower electrodes and a piezoelectric layer disposed in a region corresponding to the pressure generating chamber 12. A section 14 communicating with a port being supplied with ink externally communicates with the pressure generating chamber 12 through a constricted part 13 narrower than the pressure generating chamber 12. A part 12a having gradually decreasing width is provided closely to the end part of the pressure generating chamber 12 on the constricted part 13 side in order to protect the piezoelectric layer 70 against damage.
