PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a seal which facilitates the unsealing of the upper end of a sticklike package product, by composing a lateral heat sealer so that it carries out a sealing operation in an obliquely lateral direction so that a center seal part coincides with one side-edge of a package film sealed in a nearly tubular form. SOLUTION: Between guide shafts 7T, right and left, provided longitudinally in an automatic packaging machine 1, a lateral seal device 6 provided below a longitudinal seal device is inclined at an angle of at least 40 deg. or more in an obliquely lateral direction to the automatic packaging machine 1. Thus, both heat sealers 6Xa and 6Ya for laterally sealing a nearly tubular packaging film provided with a center seal part Pa can form a seal at the angle θ in the obliquely lateral direction so that the center seal part Pa coincides with one side-edge of the packaging film. By forming an unsealing notch NT into the part of a cut-open margin Pb' during the lateral sealing, the package product, including the center seal part Pa, can easily be unsealed from the notch along an unsealing line PL. |
