UPWARD CURRENT ANAEROBIC TREATING APPARATUS AND TREATMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a UASB treating apparatus which is simple in the constitution of the apparatus, is capable of efficiently executing the sepn. of formed gases and the settling sepn. of microorganism particles and capable of making high-efficiency treatment by increasing the supply rate of the water to be treated. SOLUTION: A UASB treating vessel is internally provided with a gas venting flow passage 10 which is an erected inner cylinder 2, an upward flow passage 11 for liquid formed of spiral members 3 which are wound the outer peripheral part of this inner cylinder and of which the outside diameter ends come into contact with the inside wall of the treating vessel and at least one gas reserving sections which shut off the upper part of the cross-section in the perpendicular direction of this upward flow passage 11 by means of baffles 4 of a suitable height perpendicularly suspended from the rear surface of the spiral members 3 in the proper positions of the upward flow passage 11. The vessel is provided with gas vent pipes 5 which are projectingly disposed in the inner barrel 2 from these gas reserving sections c and of which the ends are opened and communicated downward.
