<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a printing time without increasing the capacity of a power supply. SOLUTION: A thermal head 10 is divided into four parts to be subjected to block control and a power supply has the capacity of a power supply corresponding to one block. Printing number counters 2a-2d count the printing numbers (black pixel) of blocks on the basis of inputted image data. A reference printing number is set to the printing number judging means 3a of a thermal head control circuit 3 corresponding to the capacity of the power supply and a combination of blocks printable and drivable at the same time within the range of the reference printing number is calculated on the basis of the inputted count value. A data control means 3b outputs the image data of the combined blocks to the thermal head 10 at the same time to perform printing control.</p> |
