PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flight type image forming apparatus stably supplying a developer in a high density cloud state and performing flight/non-flight control in low voltage to form an image and reduced in the affect of the positional accuracy of a control electrode. SOLUTION: A developer carrier 31 carries a developer charged to predetermined polarity. The developer T receives an electric field by an opposed electrode not shown in a drawing so as to fly in the direction shown by an arrow to form an image on a recording medium not shown in the drawing moving on the opposed electrode. First and second control electrode layers 21, 22 are provided between the opposed electrode and the developer carrier 31 and respective control electrodes 210, 220 controlling the passage of the developer of the gates 2121, 2221 of the respective layers are provided. By this constitution, the amt., density and supply timing of the developer cloud formed between the control electrode layers 21, 21 can be controlled to the optimum state and a stable and uniform image can be formed. |
