PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lengthen the service life of an auger rod by preventing the concentrated wear and damage of an apex part of the auger rod when digging a hole in earth pressing type no-earth discharge excavation. SOLUTION: An auger rod 1 has triangular cross section formed of an outward protruded curve so as to reduce the local wear of the auger rod 1. An axially extended earth pressing member 22 is provided at an apex 21 of the auger rod 1 to prevent the wear of a rod body part. The earth pressing member 22 is intermittently provided in the axial direction of the auger rod 1 to make stones and the like escape, so that earth can be smoothly pressed.
