A longitudinal casing is divided into compartments of either round or hexagonal cross section in the form of a grating. The individual fuel rods are placed in the compartments and held by detachable tubular springs which are in turn anchored by cut outs at their ends and perhaps centre, to indentations in the compartment walls. The springs have tongues pressing on the fuel rods. |
