PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety of reactor the temperature-increasing characteristics at the start of operation, the hydrogen generation efficiency, the efficiency to decrease the formation of CO as a by-product, etc., by improving the heat-capacity relationship between catalysts in the case of placing a plurality of catalysts in the reactor. SOLUTION: A plurality of catalysts generating hydrogen from a reaction fluid containing an organic compound or carbon monoxide by catalytic reaction are placed in a fluid channel 3 of the reforming reactor. At least two catalysts 1, 2 among the plurality of catalysts satisfy the relationship of (the heat-capacity of the upstream-side catalyst)<=(the heat-capacity of the downstream-side catalyst). |
