PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press roll device capable of preventing the durability of a flexible annular blanket from lowering and capable of preventing the quality of fabric web to be subjected to press treatment from degrading by removing the dispersion of circumferential tension in the axial direction of a roll for loading the above blanket. SOLUTION: This press roll device 10 constituted in such a way that a fixed press roll 16 has a press shoe 26 and a flexible annular blanket 14 surrounding both the press shoe and the fixed press roll, and a rotating roll 12 and the blanket cooperatively form press nip in the position of the press shoe, has (A) annular heads 32, 32 fitted to and supported with shaft parts 20, 20 in both ends of the fixed press roll in a rotatable state, (B) coupling means for coupling both ends of the blanket with the heads 32, 32 all over the circumferential direction at a preferred interval of angle at several positions, (C) a tension- loading means for loading tension in the axial direction of the roll 16 into the blanket through the heads 32, 32 and (D) a tension-adjusting means for adjusting the tension loaded by the tension-loading means into the blanket at one or more coupling positions among the several positions.
