PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high facial pressure resistant parts having sufficient wear resistance and facial fatigue strength even in the case of being put under high facial pressure in which local facial pressure exceeds 3 GPa. SOLUTION: At the time of producing high facial pressure resistant parts, steel for machine structure having a compsn. contg. at least, by weight, 0.15 to 0.4% C, 0.15 to 0.6% Si, 0.2 to 0.8% Mn, 0.05 to 0.15% S and 0.2 to 3.5% Cr, in which the content of P is adjusted to <=0.15% and 0 to <=20 ppm, and the balance Fe with impurities is used, which is worked into a desired shape and is subjected to carburizing or carbo-nitriding treatment by a plasma carburizing or plasma carbon-nitriding method, in succession to this carburizing or carbo-nitriding treatment, hard film formation is executed by a plasma CVD method, and, after these treatments are continuously executed, quenching and tempering are executed.
