PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new sulfonamide derivative giving a quick and selective acylation agent enabling easy treatment of by-products. SOLUTION: The objective compound is expressed by formula I [X is H, trifuloromethyl, nitro or the like; V is nitro, cyano, a halogen or the like; R is C(=Y)R1 or C(=Y)OR2 (Y is O or S; R1 is H or phenyl; R2 is phenyl, a substituted phenyl, a heterocyclic group or the like)], e.g. N-acetyl-N-(4- trifluoromethylphenyl)-trifluoromethanesulfonamide. The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting 1 equivalent of a compound of formula II with preferably 1-5 equivalent of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid anhydride in a solvent at -80 to +50 deg.C for several minutes to 24 hours to obtain a compound of formula III and reacting 1 equivalent of the compound of formula III with preferably 1-5 equivalent of an acid halide of formula R-Q (Q is a halogen) or an acid anhydride of formula R-O-R in a solvent in the presence of a base at -80 to +50 deg.C for several minutes to 24 hours.
