PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motion attenuation device, which absorbs shocks of an earthquake or the like to lessen damage of a structure and easily repairs the damage. SOLUTION: A motion attenuation device 10, formed of a plurality of connected structural members is constituted of a first fitting plate 17 fixed to a structural member of one side, a second fitting plate 26 fixed to a structural member of the other side, and connection plates 12 joining the first and second fitting plates 17, 26. The connection plate 12 is formed to have a nealy narrow V-shaped form at the closer side of the second fitting plate 26 or to have a nearly narrow X-shaped form at the middle part.
