PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To put municipal refuse collection system utilizing a treating relay station to practical use and to more efficiently treat municipal refuse. SOLUTION: Municipal refuse 1 is classified to non-garbage refuse and garbage by a garbage classifying machine 2. Non-garbage refuse is made to contain about 40 to 50% moisture and bags and sheet-like materials in the non-garbage refuse are finely crushed by a crushing machine 3 to facilitate the consolidation of the refuse. A suitable amt. of limes, such as slaked lime and quicklime, are mixed as additives with the non-garbage refuse and the mixture is solidified and molded in a compression molding machine 4. Solidified matter formed by solidifying and molding is wrapped by sheet material.
