PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bobbin thread winding device reducing the rate at which a bobbin thread extended from a bobbin case on which the thread is completely wound is cut when guided to a cutting position or the rate at which the bobbin thread retained is disconnected during a thread cutting process for the bobbin thread. SOLUTION: A bobbin thread winding device includes a thread feed nozzle 36 freely rotationally retained to bring out a bobbin thread L from a bobbin thread supply source and to feed the bobbin thread L to a bobbin in a bobbin case 10; and a moving-knife-equipped loop spreading 40 freely rotationally retained along the peripheral side face of the bobbin case 10 and being rotated while the bobbin thread L is supplied to the bobbin, so that the bobbin thread L extended from the thread guiding part of the bobbin case 10 is scooped up and sandwiched between the loop spreading 40 and a fixed knife 45 to cut the bobbin thread L. To cut the bobbin thread L extended from the thread guiding part of the bobbin case 10, while the thread path length of the bobbin thread L is held almost constant, the thread feed nozzle 36 operates in correspondence with the operation of the moving-knife-equipped loop spreading 40.
