PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of NOx and particulate components by covering a fuel injection nozzle with a cylindrical heat shield so as to prevent a thermal influence and adjust a closing period of a nozzle insertion hole of a sub-chamber. SOLUTION: A tip end part 10 of a fuel injection nozzle 9 is covered with a cylindrical heat shield 30, comprising a cylindrical unit 31 and a closed end part 32, to be protected from heat. A through hole 33 for fuel injection is formed in the cylindrical heat shield 30. Since the end part 32 is extended by a distance D to a tip end side from a nozzle sack part 27, the cylindrical heat shield 30 long closes a nozzle insertion hole 10 by interposing the piston top dead center, flowing of air in a sub-chamber 2 through only a connection hole 14 and jetting of a flame from the sub-chamber 2 are strengthened, and mixing of fuel in air is promoted, also spreading of the jetted flame to the outer periphery of a main chamber 1 is promoted.
