PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner which can select a cleaning method according to a state of air of a setting place of the air cleaner and can expand and contract corresponding to a size of the setting place. SOLUTION: An air cleaner has at least one of three cleaning units, i.e., the first cleaning unit 14 which has an inlet 22, an outlet 24 and an air course 78 that is connected with the inlet 22 and the outlet 24 and also has an ultraviolet lamp 44a for a radiation of ultraviolet of an ozone generative wavelength on the way to the air course 78, the second cleaning unit 16 which has an inlet 22, an outlet 24 and an air course 78 that is connected with the inlet 22 and the outlet 24 and also has an ultraviolet lamp 44b for a radiation of ultraviolet of a germicidal function wavelength on the way to the air course 78 and the third cleaning unit 18 which has an inlet 22, an outlet 24 and an air course 78 that is connected with the inlet 22 and the outlet 24 and also has a photocatalyst 60 and an ultraviolet lamp 44c for a radiation of ultraviolet of photocatalyst activating function wavelength on the way to the air course 78. Each air course 78 of the first, second and third cleaning units 14, 16 and 18 can be joined with connecting.
