PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign matter entrance preventing device for an intake capable of scraping up floating objects such as jellyfishes so that intake of water can be continuously performed without eliminating them. SOLUTION: A circulation type screen 30 is disposed on an intake 2, and a partition plate 4 is roughly horizontally disposed at a specified interval d1 from a screen 32 of the circulation type screen 30 at a specified water depth position on the upstream side of the circulation type screen 30. In addition, on the downstream side of the circulation type screen 30, a back plate 5 is roughly vertically disposed close to the screen 32 of the circulation type screen 30 roughly to reach the water depth position where the partition plate 4 is disposed.
