PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable treatment of a large volume with a short time by a simple means by cutting jellyfishes contg. seaweed, feeding the cut jellyfishes into a pressure resistant vessel and heat treating the jellyfishes with steam or superheated water or combustion gas, etc., then rapidly releasing the jellyfishes to the atmosphere to a supersaturated state thereby vaporizing and dissolving the jellyfishes and putting the seaweed into a fibrous state. SOLUTION: Jellyfishes (partly contg. seaweed) is fed into a preheating kettle 2 through a draining vessel which is irregular by a submersible pump 1 with a cutter from a pit. The jellyfishes are then preheated to about 40 to 50 deg.C by using combustion gas, hot water and steam and an electric heater. Preheated jellyfishes are fed into a high-pressure kettle 3 where the jellyfishes are heated by the combustion gas or by the satd. steam or superheated water and are then rapidly released to a low pressure (atm. pressure). Released jellyfishes are made into the water of 98% by water sepn. and dissolution. After the water is cooled down to ordinary temp., the water is passed through a filter and is returned into the seal, by which the water is discarded. The jellyfishes themselves are thus completely treated. On the other hand, jellyfish org. matter of about 2% and fibers of seaweed remain in a filter and are, therefore, treated by incineration equipment, etc. |
