PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double bearing-type fishing reel having a switching member of an informing mechanism placed at an easily detectable position and excellent in operability. SOLUTION: In a side board at a position opposite to a handle, a gear 4 of an information mechanism B is nonrotatably fitted on the shaft part 3a of a protruding spool shaft 3 and prevented from slipping off by an E-ring 15. At the position of the gear 4 of the information mechanism B at the outside face of a side frame 1b, a spring member 7 is positioned by a pin 1h placed on the side frame 1b and fixed by a screw 26. At the opposing free end 7e of the spring member 7, a pair of necked parts 8c of a sounding tine 8 are clipped in, the sounding tine 8 is rotatably supported on a switching member 9 by a pin 27, the front end 8e of the sounding tine 8 is engaged with the gear 4, and the switching member 9 is rotatably supported by a pin shaft 28 placed on the outside face of the side frame 1b ahead of the center of axle of a spool 12, so that a knob part 9g of the switching member 9 is placed on a circular face 1k of a dent part 1j formed at a forward outer side of the side frame 1b in a displaceable manner and, at the same time, placed on the circular face of a dent part formed on the outer face of the side board at the position opposite to the handle in a displaceable manner.
