PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize an abrasive belt and to reduce the polishing cost by controlling the operating time of the abrasive belts of polishing machines for individual steel types, adapting the abrasive belts with finer yarn number counts in sequence according to the operating time, and repeatedly using the abrasive belts. SOLUTION: A new abrasive belt is used for the abrasive belt of a No. 1 polishing machine, and used belts are used for the abrasive belts of a No. 2 polishing machine through a No. 6 polishing machine. When the steel type is specified, the operating time and roughness of a new abrasive belt have correlation, thus the roughness of the abrasive belt used for each polishing machine is obtained from the operating time of the new abrasive belt, and a used belt used for a fixed time is employed. The operating time is controlled for each used belt, and the abrasive belts with finer yarn count numbers in sequence according to the operating time are repeatedly used. |
