PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a bacterial cellulose capable of raising the production efficiency. SOLUTION: A bacterium such as Acetobacter xylinum is cultured in a culture medium containing 1-40 vol.% of a new born calf serum added thereto when producing cellulose by the bacterium. Since the production amount of the cellulose can be increased without increasing the quantity of fed energy required for the production, the production efficiency can be raised to thereby reduce the production cost. |
