摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance of an internal combustion engine by obtaining proper torque, fuel consumption and exhaust emission performance over a full operational range of an internal combustion engine and also properly changing a mixture forming condition in accordance with a load and a rotational speed. SOLUTION: In this internal combustion engine, air is sucked in a combustion chamber 12, the sucked air is compressed by a piston 10, and also fuel is injected in the combustion chamber 12 by a fuel injection valve, ignited by a spark plug 3, and burned. In this case, a first fuel injection valve 7 in an injection direction directed to the spark plug 3 in a light load operational region of the internal combustion engine and a second fuel injection valve 8 in an injection direction directed to the piston in an operational region except the light load operational region are provided.
