VARIABLE MIXTURE CONCENTRATION DISTRIBUTION CONTROL METHOD FOR SPARK-IGNITION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten efficiency in low load high operation in the frequency of use and to stratify the inside of a cylinder to reduce the discharge of soot and NOx in high load with an emission problem. SOLUTION: Mixture concentration distribution in a cylinder is adjusted according to engine load. In case of low load operation with little emission of NOx and soot, fuel is collected to the vicinity of a spark plug to stratify a mixture to attain high efficiency. In case of high load operation, fuel is made to flow so as to oppose a swirl during an air charging stroke. A mixture is therefore uniformed to suppress the emission of soot.
