PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suitable device for casting a high melting point metal and a metal casting method using the device. SOLUTION: A crucible 2, a mold 3, and an electrode 10 for arc charging are installed in a casting chamber which can be controlled with pressure, and a supporting shaft 6 exists on a flowing edge side of the crucible 2 adjacent to a casting port 5 of the mold 3. Then, the crucible 2 can be slanted with the shaft 6 as a center, and a crucible slanting means 7 exists on a non-flowing edge side. The space between the metal and the electrode is kept approximately constant from the start for arc melting of the metal 4 on the crucible 2 till the melting is proceeded and the crucible 2 is slanted for dropping the molten metal 4, and arc discharging is continued whole the metal 4 is flowed and dropped. At that time, it is preferable that a pressure reduction pump 12 and a pressurized gas supply source 13 are connected to the casting chamber 1, a gas supply pressure P1 being pressure-controlled is set bigger than a gas pressure P2 required for casting, and the supply of the pressurized gas is cut off when it reaches the gas pressure P2.
